FREE WEBINAR – EMERGENCY COMMODITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Join Farm Service Agency (FSA) for an overview of the new Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP). Through ECAP, FSA is issuing up to $10 billion in direct payments to eligible agricultural producers of eligible commodities for the 2024 crop year to help agricultural producers mitigate the impacts of increased input costs and falling commodity prices. The ECAP application period started on March 19, 2025, and runs through Aug. 15, 2025. During the ECAP producer webinar, FSA staff will provide a program summary and overview to include covered commodities, producer eligibility, payment calculation information, application process, and frequently asked questions.

HOW DOUBLE-CROP ACRES WILL BE TREATED FOR PAYMENTS
If both commodities raised are in an approved double-crop rotation, acreage for both commodities is eligible for ECAP payments. If the 1,500 acre example farm had 800 corn acres, 400 soybean acres, and 300 wheat acres which were followed by double-crop soybeans it would receive an initial ECAP payment of $54,711.95 ($42.91 x 800 + $29.76 x 700 + $30.69 x 300 = $64,367 x 0.85 = $54,711.95). Field Notes
from Kathy

Wednesday, April 16, in Lubbock, our very own Kathy proudly represented the Crop Insurance Professionals of America (CIPA) during a roundtable discussion with Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins at the USDA Cotton Classification Complex on the Texas Tech campus.
Secretary Rollins joined House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) for a tour and essential discussion focused on the future of American agriculture and the tools our producers rely on, like crop insurance. We’re incredibly grateful for Secretary Rollins’ leadership and advocacy in Washington. Her support is deeply felt by those of us working daily to serve America’s farmers and ranchers.
